About SUMIRE
SUMIRE is a place to keep mathematical research as projects, share them at the stage they are in, and let good projects find attention.
Projects and notes
A project is a theme big enough to become a field or a textbook — think “Condensed mathematics” or “Toposes as bridges”. Inside it, notes are numbered like arXiv papers: SUMIRE:2609.00001/3 is note 3 of project 2609.00001.
Notes have a content classification. Suggestions from AI remain proposals until a person confirms them:
- Unclassified
- Vague questions / ideas
- Formulated questions
- Proof texts
- Notes / materials
A formulated mathematical question includes explicit assumptions and what to determine: a yes/no answer or a numerical value, as well as a proposition to prove. A vague question comes before that. Lean formalization, human review and verification are recorded independently; a proof-text label does not certify correctness.
Ownership and credit
The owner of a project is the person who set its goal. The owner decides whether it is public, who may edit it, and what things are called. An “Origin” line credits where the idea came from. Everyone who writes a note or joins the discussion appears in the credits automatically, together with the AI tools that were used.
You can create a project for someone who is not on SUMIRE yet. It becomes theirs when they join — automatically if they sign in with the ORCID iD you gave, or after you confirm their request.
Private by default
New projects are private. You can send a read-only link to anyone — they do not need an account — and add collaborators who can edit. Publishing is a separate, explicit step.
AI
You can connect Claude, ChatGPT or other assistants to SUMIRE so they can read your projects and draft notes. Every project and note has a “context for AI” that readers do not see. Notes record whether and which AI was used. SUMIRE never sends messages or publishes anything on its own. Connect your AI
Attention instead of publication
Public projects and notes are ordered by the 👍 and 👎 of signed-in people, with public rules that nobody adjusts by hand.
How ranking works
- Projects and notes are ordered by 👍 minus 👎. Each signed-in person has one vote per item and can change or withdraw it at any time.
- Ties are broken by the number of signed-in people who read the item in the last 30 days, each counted once per day. Visits without signing in are not counted; SUMIRE does not store IP addresses.
- Remaining ties are broken by an AI estimate of interest, averaged over several criteria. It only matters while few people have voted.
- After that, newer first.
- The operators of SUMIRE never adjust the order by hand. Private projects are never ranked or counted.
AI estimates
AI estimates are made per project; notes use their project's estimate. Each criterion keeps its reason, model and date. They are unverified aids, not a judgment of correctness or permission to publish.
Unassessed does not mean a low score. If any item tied on votes and readers has no assessment, that whole tied group uses newest first instead of AI scores.
