Terms & Privacy
SUMIRE terms
SUMIRE is an experimental service, operated by Ryuya Hora, for keeping, sharing and publishing research projects in mathematics.
Before you write
Put only content you have the right to put. Do not publish collaborators’ unpublished results, other people’s personal information or confidential material without their consent. New projects start private; publishing is an explicit step taken by the owner.
Ownership and credit
The owner of a project is the person who set its goal. The owner decides who can read and edit it and what things are called.
You can create a project whose owner is someone not yet on SUMIRE. When that person joins, the project passes to them, either because their ORCID iD matches or because the person who created it approves their request. Do not make requests in someone else’s name.
Credit where an idea came from with the “Origin” line. Everyone who writes a note or joins the discussion appears in the credits automatically, together with the AI tools that were used.
Copyright and use
You keep the copyright in what you write. SUMIRE uses it to display, search and export it according to the project’s visibility, and to let AI assistants connected by people who may read it read it. Publishing on SUMIRE does not by itself give others unlimited rights to republish.
Ranking and AI
Public projects and notes are ordered by public rules (such as 👍 and 👎 from signed-in people). The operator never adjusts the order by hand. Each person has one vote. Notes must say correctly whether, and which, AI was used.
Not allowed
- Impersonating others, or requesting someone else’s project to take it over
- Manipulating votes with several accounts or automation, spam, attacks on the service
- Illegal content, or content that infringes others’ rights
No guarantees
Appearing on SUMIRE does not guarantee mathematical correctness, novelty or priority. SUMIRE is experimental; continued or uninterrupted service is not guaranteed. Keep important work locally too, using the Markdown export.
Changes and removal
The operator may stop displaying content that infringes rights, exposes personal or confidential information or breaks the rules above, and records the reason. Changes to these terms are announced on this page. Contact support.
SUMIRE privacy
SUMIRE is operated by Ryuya Hora. This page applies to SUMIRE at sumire.aiformath.jp.
What we store
- Your account: display name, profile address (/u/…), affiliation, bio, interface language, and the profile links you add (ORCID, Google Scholar, researchmap and so on).
- One identifier per sign-in method: your Discord user ID and username, your ORCID iD and name, your email address. SUMIRE handles no passwords and does not keep Discord or ORCID access tokens. Sign-in links sent by email are stored only as verification hashes and expire after 30 minutes.
- What you write: projects, notes, discussion comments, 👍 and 👎, share links, members, “context for AI”, and ownership requests.
- Reader counts: to count the signed-in people who read public projects and notes, we store one hash per reader, item and day, and delete it after 35 days. The hash cannot be used to link the same person across items. Visits without signing in are not counted. We do not store IP addresses (to stop too many sign-in emails and AI connection requests, we only count requests per sender in memory, for about an hour).
- AI connections: the name of each AI app you connect, when it was connected and last used, and verification hashes of its connection tokens (never the tokens themselves). You can disconnect any of them on Connect your AI.
Cookies
sumire_sid: keeps you signed in (up to 180 days)sumire_shares: the share links you have opened (up to 365 days)sumire_ui: interface languagesumire_oauth: checks a Discord or ORCID sign-in in progress (10 minutes)
We use no advertising and no third-party analytics.
What is public and what is not
For a public project, its title, description, notes, discussion, 👍 and 👎 counts, credits (contributors and the AI tools they used) and the owner’s name are public. Your profile page shows your display name, affiliation, bio, profile links and public projects. Who voted 👍 or 👎 is not published.
A private project can be read only by its owner, its members and people who hold a share link. Anyone who has a share link can read the project, so choose carefully whom you give it to. You can revoke a link at any time.
“Context for AI” is never shown to readers. Only people who can edit the project, and the AI assistants they connect, can read it. The operator can manage the database, but SUMIRE has no screen that lets the operator read other people’s private projects.
Other services
- Railway: runs the application and database
- Discord and ORCID: confirm who you are when you sign in with them
- Resend: sends sign-in links if you choose email sign-in
- The AI assistants you connect (Claude, ChatGPT and others): what you ask them to read or write is sent to their provider
Please also read each provider’s terms. The only emails SUMIRE sends are sign-in links and links to add an email address. SUMIRE never emails your collaborators for you.
Deleting and stopping
You can delete your own notes and comments. A deleted note disappears from the site and from AI connections, and its number is not reused. So that a note deleted by mistake can be restored, its text stays in the database; to have it erased completely, contact support. Owners can make a project private, revoke share links and remove members at any time. To delete your account, contact support. Backups, and copies already passed to others or to AI assistants, cannot be fully recalled.
Posts from the old board
On 30 September 2026 SUMIRE changed from a single board into a place for research projects. Posts from the old board were made private and are kept readable only by the operator until a publication policy is decided.
